David Tohn

David Tohn is the Chief Executive Officer at BTS Software Solutions (BTS) in Columbia, Maryland; Chairman of the Board of Directors for Steer™, LLC; Chairman of the Technology Board of the Maryland Technology Council; Board Member of TEDCO (serving on the Investment Committee); serves on Maryland’s AI Implementation Subcabinet Workgroup; and is a Board Member for Improving Education and the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance. BTS provides intelligence operations, counter-UxS capabilities, custom software development, and data science for DoD and Intelligence Community partners, DARPA, the Missile Defense Agency, and other agencies, hardware engineering, and technical analysis. He assumed the CEO position of BTS in 2014. Since joining, BTS has achieved 20x growth. David is a retired military officer with over 24 years of experience in military intelligence and strategic planning, and a deep background in cyber security operations, Signals, Geospatial, and Human Intelligence. His current emphasis is on data sciences, counter-UxS capabilities, hardware/software engineering, intelligence operations, and the commercialization of BTS’s advanced technologies. His formal education includes a National Security Fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College, a Master of Military Art and Science from the US Army Command and General Staff College (School of Advanced Military Studies) in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Publications include authoring and coauthoring several professional articles, several Op-eds, and books, including Civilian Reserve Intelligence Program: A Fundamental Requirement for Army Intelligence Transformation and On Point: The United States Army in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
