Generative AI, Cybersecurity, and Ethics

What you will learn:

As generative AI rapidly reshapes the cybersecurity landscape, it is transforming both attack capabilities and defensive strategies. In this session, Dr. Ray Islam explores how AI is accelerating cyber offense through automated phishing, polymorphic malware, adversarial prompt engineering, and deepfake enabled social engineering, while simultaneously empowering defenders with intelligent threat detection, autonomous SOC workflows, and predictive risk modeling. Beyond the technical arms race, this talk addresses the ethical fault lines emerging in AIML driven security: algorithmic bias in detection systems, privacy implications of large-scale surveillance models, AI governance gaps, and the responsible deployment of autonomous cyber tools.
